Headcount One

Privacy

Updated 17 October 2026

This page covers our websites (theauthoritypress.com, headcountone.co and readcoldstorage.com) and our newsletters: what we collect, why, and how to have it deleted. The short version: we count visits without cookies, we keep the email you send us so we can reply, and we never sell anything about you.

Who we are

Authority Press publishes newsletters. It is run by Culture Classic Ventures, LLC, 110 E 25th St, New York, NY 10016. This site is theauthoritypress.com. For anything on this page, write to dev@theauthoritypress.com.

Visits

We count visits with Umami, which we run ourselves at stats.hci.sh. It sets no cookies and does not follow you to other sites. For each visit it records the page, the site that sent you, your browser, device type and screen size, and a rough location (country and city) worked out from your IP address. It does not store the IP address itself.

Umami also records how you move through a page: where you click, how far you scroll, and a replay of what the page showed as you browsed. A replay stops after five minutes, and it hides what you type. We use these to see which parts of the site work, and only we see them.

Email

If you write to us, we keep your message and your address so we can reply. We delete them when you ask.

Newsletters

When you subscribe, we keep your email address, the newsletters you chose, whether you are a member and until when, and how many friends you referred. Our email platform sends the newsletters and tells us whether an email was opened or a link clicked, so we can see what readers find useful. Every email has a link to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing stops it at once.

If you sign up before a newsletter's first issue, we keep your email address and the newsletter you chose, and send you one email to confirm before anything else. If you never confirm, we delete your address.

Payments

Memberships are paid through our payment provider. It handles your card details; we never see or store your card number. We receive your name, email, country and what you bought, so we can give you access.

Who handles data for us

Our host runs the site and may keep short technical logs of requests, such as the time, the page and the IP address, for security.

Our email platform holds subscriber records and sends the newsletters. Our email provider holds the email we send and receive. Our payment provider processes payments.

The fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address when a page loads.

We don't sell personal data, and this site carries no third-party trackers.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to dev@theauthoritypress.com, and we'll answer within 30 days.
